#1- Blogging about Bass Playing: Day One

Okay, so, here we go I guess.  I've been thinking about doing this little "bass-blogging" thing for quite awhile and I suppose it's finally time to give it a whirl.  My primary motivation is to have some sort of documentation of some of the shows, rehearsals, sessions, and other musical adventures that I spend so much time participating in.  I suppose the secondary motivation is that I enjoy writing and would like to impove my skillz in that world.  Hopefully this blog, if it lasts, will help on both fronts.

So, I suppose I should confess that I'm going into this with the expectation that roughly no-one is going to be interested enough to read these things.  And that's cool.  Really.  I think my target demographic is singular.  What I mean is, I'm writing this mostly for me, and from a really self-centered, obsessive perspective.  I'm hoping to use this as a way to monitor my "progress", to look back at previous entries and see if I'm still dwelling on the same issues and thinking about the same Bass Things as I was before.  That being said, maybe there are a few of you out there who might actually be interested in my struggles with gear, tone, technique, and other assorted mental challenges that I go through on a gig-by-gig basis.

Wish me luck, I'm new at this.   I'm also curious how long the experiment will last..  I do think this process can be a good thing, can help me get wherever it is I'm going, help me improve as a player and writer, and probably help me be even more self-centered than I've been up till now.   I think.
